Entry Visit Visa
Nationals of the following countries, holding ordinary passports, are permitted to enter the United Arab Emirates without a pre-obtained Entry Visit Visa. However, the Entry Visit Visa will be granted by the UAE Authorities upon arrival at any UAE ports (air, land and sea) valid for 30 days and free of charge. This visa could be extended for another 30 days and the fee will be 500.00 Dirhams (around AU$300.00). Any person who enters the UAE by an Entry Visit Visa is not allowed to work in the UAE whether paid or unpaid.
The regulations of the Transit Visa do not apply to the Nationals of the countries, with ordinary passports, listed below.

Nationals, holding ordinary passports, of the countries not listed in the above table can obtain the Entry Visit Visa to enter UAE by being sponsored by a friend or relative who lives in UAE, or by a hotel or a company based in UAE. This should be arranged prior to their travel.
General requirements:
- Valid Passport for at least six months.
- Round trip airline ticket (return ticket).
Diplomatic / Official Passports Holders
Nationals of the following countries, holding diplomatic and official passports, are permitted to enter the United Arab Emirates without a pre-obtained Entry Visit Visa. However, the Entry Visit Visa will be granted by the UAE Authorities upon arrival at any UAE ports (air, land and sea) valid for 30 days and free of charge.
The regulations of the Transit Visa do not apply to the Nationals of the countries, with diplomatic and official passports, listed below.

Effective 1 October 2009, holders of diplomatic and official passports from the list below are required to apply with the UAE Embassy for an Entry Visit Visa prior to travel. The following paperwork needs to be submitted:
- Third note verbal from their embassies or diplomatic missions.
- Valid Passport for at least six months.
- Travel itenrary.
- Completed visit visa application form which can be downloaded from here.

Transit Visa
The Transit Visa could be granted to a passenger transiting to a third destination through one of the UAE airports by the concerned authorities of the airport. This type of visa will allow the passenger to stay in the United Arab Emirates for 96 hours or less. The passenger can apply for the Transit Visa on arrival at the airport. It can be arranged also for the passenger by the carrier airline prior his/her travel to the UAE.
Transit Visa Eligibility:
Any passenger who fulfills the following conditions will be eligible to apply for a transit visa. The fee is 100 Dirhams:
- A passport with a minimum validity of 6 months.
- An airline ticket that shows the continuation of the trip to a third destination.
- Departing the UAE within 96 hours from the period of the obtaining of Transit Visa. (The period of 96 hours starts from the arrival time and ends in departure time.)
