NATIONAL FLAG

The flag of the United Arab Emirates was adopted on December 2, 1971. It contains the Pan-Arab colors red, green, white and black, which symbolise Arabian unity. In addition the individual colors have the following meanings; green symbolises fertility, white symbolises neutrality and black is the colour for oil wealth within the country's borders.

 

NATIONAL ANTHEM

The United Arab Emirates' national anthem existed for many years without any without words, a classic example of the style of anthem known as “Arab fanfare”. In 1996, lyrics were written for anthem through a competition won by Aref Al Sheikh Abdullah Al Hassan.
