HISTORY

The long-standing and friendly relationship between the United Arab Emirates, (UAE), and Australia has led the two countries to exchange diplomatic missions between them. The UAE opened its Embassy in Canberra in 1997; two years later in 1999, Australia opened its embassy in Abu Dhabi, the Capital of the UAE. Since then the ties between them have been on the rise.

 

PREVIOUS AMBASSADORS

The first Ambassador to Australia from the UAE was
His Excellency Dr. Khalifa Bakhit Al Falasi

(24 July 1997 - September 2003)

The second Ambassador to Australia from the UAE was
His Excellency Mr. Abdulrazak Hadi

(28 November 2003 – 4 December 2004)

The third Ambassador to Australia from the UAE was
His Excellency Dr. Saeed Al Shamsi
(December 2004 - June 2010).
